Cheesesteak Pizza
Just came across this in my drafts folder. Anyhow, from what I remember of this dinner - it was pretty good. I added balsamic glaze and arugula on top of what is pictured. I think steak, farmers chevre, red peppers and parmesan.

This is kinda crazy…. I wish I’d been taking these a little more diligently. Oh well…

End of June, 2009
I thought I’d post a quick little update. It has now been 14 months since I changed my lifestyle. I’ve been holding steady at a really comfortable weight. If anything, I might try to loose 2 more pounds before my February vacation! The point is, I dont really think about weight loss anymore, I just eat the way I love to eat.

November, 2009
1. Don’t order lunch with the rest of the office. Our employees love to get all excited and send around menus and share things. We have never accepted a lunch invitation. We pack our lunch every day.

Lunch - Butter lettuce, goat cheese, apricots, homemade dressing
2. If we know we are going to have a busy evening, we eat at home first. We never plan on just “finding something healthy”. Nothing is EVER as healthy as it is when you make it. When you cook it you know what is in it.
3. Never run out of groceries. It is a priority. We always always have food at home. Even when we have 5 minutes - we heat up a weight watchers frozen quesadilla, top it off with with Texas Pete hot sauce and away we go! 4 points is so much better than “who knows” points.
4. Don’t eat off a platter that is being paraded around in front of your face. All winter, the holiday parties - we never ate a single thing off of a tray.
5. Don’t eat late at night. It is the devil. Seriously, plan your day so you dont eat after 9 PM or so.
6. Don’t buy chips. There is just no reason. Really. Eat a dried apricot, or 8 raw almonds, or a slice of cheese.
7. Don’t ever eat out of the container. Whatever it is..take out a portion (read the box to get the portion size) then take that amount (or less) and walk away. Put the container back in the pantry and consider it done.
8. When you cook a meal, it also has a serving size. If you are looking at Weight Watchers, or Cooking Light recipes - they tell you that figuree. So, if you make the Eggplant Lasagna and it says it makes 6 servings, the minute you pull it from the oven - cut it into its servings then eat only one.
9. Buy a kitchen scale, and use it. Chicken breasts come in all sorts of sizes and unless you weight them you have no real idea what you are eating.
10. Don’t punish yourself. If the office is celebrating someone’s birthday, and they’ve brought a cake in. Get a fork and have ONE bite.
11. Dont succumb to pressure, dont worry about “being nice”. I used to feel like I had to have a brownie if one of our employees spouses make a surprise for the office. I’m over it.
12. Don’t worry about asking a restaurant what item can be prepared without the sauce, or can be grilled instead of sautéed.
13. Never order a salad in a restaurant and think you are being healthy. You must order it with dressing and cheese on the side. If possible ask for oil and vinegar and make your own dressing. I like to get a lemon, salt and pepper, and use just the tiniest bit of oil. Oh and if the salad has meat - be careful - that can be a dangerous item if you dont know how it s prepared.
14. Use smaller plates.
15. Find new recipes. Cooking can be so fun. It does not have to be time consuming or scary.
16. Black coffee over ice, is our best friend. The creamers and sugars and milks are just not worth all of those extra calories.

What a great little drink!
17. Don’t put ANYTHING in your mouth unless you have read the nutrition label
